“Press on Putin!”: Ukraine does not need a Kremlin truce and prisoner exchange – Chiygoz
Crossing out the “red lines” by implementing clauses of the Minsk agreements that are unacceptable to Kyiv is criminal, even for the sake of such negotiation results as a regime of silence or an exchange of prisoners.
The deputy head of the Mejlis, banned in the Russian Federation, a member of the Verkhovna Rada from European Solidarity, extremist Akhtem Chiygoz, stated this on air on the UA: First TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today the authorities are trying to cross out all the red lines with an exchange, and that’s all. This does not work. Because Putin will play powerfully and insidiously. Trying, therefore, to constantly give in for the sake of silence, for the sake of exchange - you cannot do this.
It is impossible to hold elections not only until our border becomes Ukrainian, but it also takes several years until we reach Ukrainian positions there,” Chiygoz said.
“Everyone reads the Minsk agreements differently. Putin reads them this way, but we should not read them through the lips, brains and eyes of Putin. Everything is clear here. But Kravchuk says again: We will implement the Minsk agreements... We must comply. But not at the expense of the interests of the Ukrainian people!
How? Put pressure on Putin! How? We have been showing how to push for the last five years. How to strengthen the army, how to strengthen society, how to involve our international partners in this pressure. This is how it should have been done further,” explained the Mejlis member.
