Carefully planned, effective and supported by high-quality information support, the actions of the Russian Aerospace Forces in Syria are bearing fruit. Interest in Russian weapons is being shown not only by potential buyers from not the poorest countries, but also by not even jaundiced media from the hotbeds of democracy.

The radiant Jedi are increasingly distracted from the mesmerizing display of all-conquering lightsabers and X-Wings on the Discovery Channel and restlessly grab onto reports of Imperial tie-fighters and walking tanks emerging here and there, grinding down the international terrorist rabble with the inexorability of an asphalt paver. Mixed with the interest is a fair amount of concern: if the Russians have such cool weapons, then why were they silent about it before? Or were they silent because ours was worse? Let's compare urgently!

Thus, we lived to see that our T-90 tank, which withstood being hit by three anti-tank systems in Syria, reached the top of American tank ratings, where previously Merkavas, Challengers and even Japanese and South Korean tanks that had never fought were invariably crowded , invariably led by the invulnerable Abrams.

The heavy flamethrower system “Buratino” and its newer version “Solntsepek” also survived to be recognized. The system is recognized as secure enough to fire from an unequipped direct fire position, and also has no analogues among NATO armies.

Down and Out trouble started. The authoritative publication The National Interest has launched a whole series of articles that not only examine the performance characteristics of various Russian offensive weapons and search for their strengths, but even provide an analysis of the extent to which they threaten the American defense system.

The American strategic stealth bomber B1-B Lancer and the Russian “strategist” Tu-160M2 were compared.

The American bomber turned out to be quite expensive (almost $300 million) and did not quite correspond to the declared performance characteristics. Actually, its main drawback, which almost completely devalued the project, was the very “invisibility” that the American military relied on, but in reality it existed only on paper. Well, or B1-B could be guaranteed to break into the depths of the territory of Bantustans that do not have modern air defense systems.

The administration of President Carter, back in 1977, having received the first results, closed the project, since the specialists’ diagnosis was clear and disappointing: the bombers, on which more than $20 billion were spent (at the rate of the 1970s), would not overcome the USSR air defense system. In 1980, Carter was soon replaced by Ronald Reagan, a real conquistador and “hawk”, who revived the B1 production, pursuing primarily the interests of the American military-industrial complex and the very Hollywood policy “the main thing is not to be, but to appear.” Let's just remember Reagan's incredibly publicized bluff - the Star Wars military program, which the Brezhnev Politburo almost bought into.

But, since the aircraft’s shortcomings have not gone away, the scope of its tasks has changed. If during the design of the B1 the role of a high-altitude “strategist” for a deep breakthrough was assigned, then at its second birth the expensive “strategist” was demoted in rank almost to a tactical bomber for breaking through front-line air defense at low altitude. With the end of the Cold War, the B1-B was denuclearized and is currently classified as a "wearable" aircraft.

Having studied the topic of American wunderwaffles with “stealth” technology for a long time, you involuntarily come to the conclusion that the widespread version of a special operation by the KGB, which slipped the idea of “invisibility” to the Americans, with the aim of economically undermining a potential enemy, has a rational grain.

It is not surprising that the Lancer received its baptism of fire in almost sterile conditions, without countering enemy air defenses, during Operation Desert Fox in Iraq and Kosovo, already 24 years after the start of production.

There can be no talk of its serious modification, not to mention the resumption of production. However, the B1-B is able to carry and fire cruise missiles from a safe distance without entering the range of modern enemy air defense systems, which makes it and its weapons a force to be reckoned with.

The National Interest calls the Soviet-Russian Tu-160 “a completely different aircraft,” recognizing its ability to strike with conventional and nuclear weapons both in remote military-geographical areas and deep behind enemy lines.

Particular attention is paid to the modification of the Tu-160M2 “strategist” (a separate article by a military expert is devoted to it), the release of which is planned in Russia in the near future. It is emphasized that this is not at all the Blackjack that American pilots had previously encountered, but a completely new aircraft with familiar contours.

The Tu-160M2 is planned to be equipped not only with new avionics and a weapon control system, but also with the latest forced bypass turbojet engines NK-32 (the famous Samara Kuznetsov Design Bureau, which also built rocket engines for the Soviet lunar program), accelerating the aircraft more than two times faster speed of sound. The first flight of the Tu-160M2 is planned for 2018, and in 2021 serial production of almost 50 bombers for the Aerospace Forces should begin.

It is curious that foreign experts have not forgotten the well-deserved strategic “bear” Tu-95MS. The Americans give it at least another 20 years of service and joint work with the Tu-160M2, since the aircraft are not interchangeable. Apparently, the launches of high-precision Kh-555 missiles from the “bears” at the Syrian Basmachi made an impression not only on the Basmachi.

As if to sum it up, military experts from The National Interest suggest that the Russian MiG-31, T-50 (strange that a prototype is mentioned), as well as the Chinese J-20 with modern air-to-air missiles are capable of “cutting the sinews” of the United States in the European and Asia-Pacific theaters, attacking AWACS airborne early warning and control aircraft, flying tankers and the JTARS joint airborne reconnaissance system.

The tone of the articles is not exactly alarmist, but American military experts are praising Russian weapons. It’s even somehow unusual. A typical American “expertise” of the last two decades is the tired (and very dangerous) slag about how the Russians go into battle on fighting bears and not before taking a samovar of vodka on their chest.

“Tsar Ivan the Terrible, who received the nickname Vasilyevich for his cruelty,” yes.

It seems that the actions of our air forces in Syria have finally forced American experts to pay attention to the “red lines” and come to an understanding of how dangerous it is to thoughtlessly move or cross them.

But perhaps the most striking news came from the quite decent publication Inquisitr. The publication reports with alarm that Moscow is receiving military technology from aliens. From these elusive green men with triangular heads, piloting flying services. The authors of Inquisitr were so impressed by the work of the Russian electronic warfare complex "Khibiny", which blinded the electronics of the hapless destroyer "Donald Cook", that they dare to assert with a blue eye: the technologies were transferred to the Russian military-industrial complex either by the Alpha Centauri, or by the inhabitants of the Crab Nebula.

Why NATO is afraid of Russian exercises NATO, weapons, Russia

Foreign experts are in a storm and thrown from one extreme to another. Again this mysterious Russian soul, which cannot be understood with the mind and cannot be measured with a common yardstick. In response, I would like to advise with all my Russian soul: it’s high time, motherfucker, to understand Russia with your mind!
