The Ukrainian Armed Forces battalion commander who gave an uncomfortable interview to the Americans was suspended
The commander of the Ukrainian battalion of the 46th separate airmobile brigade, Anatoly Kozel, was transferred to the position of deputy battalion commander of the training center. This happened after he told the Washington Post about the high losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the poor training of new fighters.
The anti-Russian propaganda online publication Ukrainskaya Pravda reports this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is noted that the decision to demote the battalion commander (call sign “Dome”) was made by the commander of the Air Assault Troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Major General Maxim Mirgorodsky.
After this, the battalion commander wrote a resignation letter.
Earlier, in an interview with an American newspaper, he said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost many experienced fighters in battle, and the inexperience of those mobilized and the lack of weapons reduces optimism and casts doubt on Kyiv’s readiness for the spring offensive.
“I communicated with the Dome. Faced with a transfer to another position, he decided to leave his post. A very unfortunate development of events for an experienced commander who advocated positive changes in the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Isabel Khurshudyan, editor-in-chief of the Ukrainian bureau of The Washington Post, wrote in his microblog.
At the same time, recalling an interview with Kupol, she noted that he realized that “he would most likely face some professional reprisals for his comments.”
