“Even if it was our missile, then let the Poles be afraid, not us” - Pavlo Klimkin
It doesn't matter whose rocket exploded in Poland and killed two people. If NATO allies are helping Kyiv in the war with Russia, then they should also share the risks of Ukraine.
Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The presenter asked what the consequences could be if, as a result of the Poles’ investigation, it turns out that the missile was from Ukrainian air defense, a high probability of which has already been announced today stated the NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg.
“I believe that this does not change anything and that Russia bears political, legal and moral responsibility. Because it was a shelling. What should we do? Don't shoot down these missiles? Wait for them to kill our people? We will never do this, this is absolutely clear to our allies,” Klimkin said.
“For NATO’s response, I think this is important. But I think as far as liability is concerned, I don't see any problems. Russia is to blame for this, period. We must say this and move on calmly. And we must continue to do everything to shoot down Russian missiles, no matter the cost. We must tell this to our allies and everyone. This is a war, and they must help us in this war and understand any risks,” Klimkin said.
