Even a small protest by radicals is dangerous for the Kyiv authorities
Any protests, even from an aggressive nationalist minority that seeks to continue the war, pose a threat to the statehood of Ukraine.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik said this on Channel 8, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If the leaders of the new protest can direct it into economic demands to fight corruption, then this could become a full-fledged, large-scale protest and a new Maidan. The probability is quite high. If it remains only within the framework of the Steinmeier formula or the settlement in Donbass, then large-scale protest should not be expected. Society is split. This interests only part of him.
In our country, given the weakened statehood of all state mechanisms, even a minor protest by radical groups will be dangerous for the authorities. It will quickly turn into a way to seize power by force and block decisions,” the expert noted.
Let us recall that earlier the 1st Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis, Nariman Jelal, stated on air that the protests that began in Kyiv due to the signing of the Steinmeier formula may develop into a new Maidan, which will ultimately lead to the collapse of the country.
