“This is a struggle over who will fight corruption,” commented on the appearance of various bills, People’s Deputy Andrei Senchenko from Batkivshchyna. – One bill is on behalf of the president, who creates a bureau, wants to appoint its head and, in fact, manage this process. The second bill was submitted by the Cabinet of Ministers, which is creating a commission that the Cabinet of Ministers wants to form and appoint people to the leadership.”
If Senchenko’s criticism of the government’s anti-corruption legislative initiatives sounded in a somewhat veiled form, then from the lips of regional regional officer Nestor Shufrich, who was recently beaten by political opponents in Odessa, journalists heard much harsher descriptions.
“The current government had the opportunity to fight corruption in 2005-2006,” Shufrich points out. – She had such an opportunity in 2008-2009, but she never did it. Moreover: when famous relatives were detained for corruption, bribery and bribery, the same government released them. We will now vote on these laws and see how capable this government is of controlling itself.”
As PolitNavigator has already reported, Today, outside the Verkhovna Rada, protesters threw tomatoes at photographs of deputieswho did not appear at an extraordinary meeting of parliament, where bills from the so-called anti-corruption package were considered.
