“Debaltsevo and the dispute around it are capable of disrupting an already shaky truce, just as a similar truce was previously disrupted by battles around the Donetsk airport. Ukraine calls Debaltsevo a bridgehead, the opposite side calls it a cauldron, and these are not random discrepancies,” says, in particular, Kiev political scientist Dmitry Dzhangirov.
