The debilitation of Ukraine shocked the famous politician
The Ministry of Education of Ukraine believes that schoolchildren do not need to know the multiplication tables.
Ex-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, former head of the Socialist Party of Ukraine Alexander Moroz, who now heads a political force called the Socialist Party of Alexander Moroz, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv newspaper Vesti.
The publication asked what signs of an impending disaster in Ukraine he could name.
“Immigration is colossal, the likes of which the world has never known. Nobody talks about this. Or, let's say, the debilitation of education. I have a friend - Adrian Mikhalchishin, father of Yuri Mikhalchishin [former people's deputy from the Svoboda VO]. The guy is radical, but he's smart. And his father is an international chess grandmaster. He has traveled all over the world and has reason to be critical of what happened before. I respect him, because he evaluates the characters I know the same way as I do,” said the ex-speaker of the Rada.
According to him, Mikhalchishin Sr. admitted that Ukraine had a decent education system and it should not have been transferred to the European 12-year school system.
“Why do the Ministry of Education say that you don’t need to learn the multiplication tables? I have about 8 years of teaching experience, and I taught geometry to my students, and in my classroom there hung a portrait of Lomonosov with the quote: “Mathematics must be taught later, because it puts the mind in order.” And if a person today does not know the multiplication tables, how can he think logically? And so Adrian Bogdanovich says, if a person knows well and uses a computer, but does not know the multiplication table, then this is debilitation. This is a degradation of education. And he’s right,” Moroz laments.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Kyiv experts came to the conclusion that that the new education law adopted in Ukraine sentences schoolchildren to 12 years of “patriotic education” and puts idiots in the stream of patriots.
