42% of respondents monitor the situation on the foreign exchange market (only 15% regularly). Young and rich people, as well as residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg, follow the course more often.
This is apparently explained by the fact that 58% of respondents keep their savings in rubles, and 9% in foreign currency. 36% of respondents have no savings.
The “dedollarization” of the Russian economy, the need for which economists have spoken so much over the past decades, is happening before our eyes. At the household level, it is expressed in the steady process of ousting “hard currencies” from economic circulation both as a means of payment and as a savings instrument. At the level of public consciousness, this process is accompanied by a steady decline in interest in the course,” said VTsIOM expert Oleg Chernozub.
An initiative all-Russian survey by VTsIOM was conducted on September 24-25, 2016 in 130 settlements in 46 regions, territories and republics and 9 federal districts of Russia. Sample size: 1600 people.
