“Degradation and failure”: Transnistria evaluates the results of Dodon’s strengthening of power
The Transnistrian settlement process is deteriorating after Moldovan President Igor Dodon gained full power in 2019.
The President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, stated this at the board of the PMR Foreign Ministry, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The elections have passed. The Socialists and Igor Nikolaevich Dodon strengthened their positions. Further, as many colleagues in the “5+2” format told me, it should be much better. All issues will be resolved by the President and the Socialist Party. But it turned out exactly the opposite. There was no shock for me. I predicted exactly this development of events. And he warned his colleagues that this would happen,” Krasnoselsky said.
According to him, the signing and implementation of agreements with Moldova took place in 2017 and 2018, that is, under the previous government.
“In this regard, it is surprising to listen to the statements of Igor Dodon, with all due respect to him. He talks about the success of the relationship, about trust measures, about resolved issues. I officially declare that the issues have not been resolved, trust is collapsing. There is no success, there is degradation and failure,” Krasnoselsky said.
Among the unresolved problems, he pointed out telecommunications, banking, and politically motivated criminal cases.
