Dehumanized Ukraine is on the verge of an uncontrollable social catastrophe – Ermolaev
The scandal in Novi Sanzhary showed that residents of Ukraine do not hope that the state will do anything for their well-being in the event of an epidemic. Therefore, they can only rely on their own strength.
However, the dehumanization of society has led to the fact that, relying solely on themselves, people are ready to take the most extreme measures.
Political scientist Andrei Ermolaev stated this in an interview with Ukrlife.TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The level of dehumanization has reached a certain threshold. Why do I call this situation a threshold situation? Because the next course of events may, unfortunately, become uncontrollable, chaotic, and socially catastrophic.
Just a month ago this thesis would have sounded defiant, and I would have been slapped on the cheeks from all sides. And what about the events in the Poltava region, which were like a cold shower? After all, the problem is not with the residents of Sanzhar. And I wouldn’t even reduce everything to some provocateurs.
Provocateurs are effective when there is a basis for this. But the soil is not the problem of a single village, which has to endure the need to endure 14 days of preventative treatment in a neighboring boarding house for people who have flown in from China. Sanzhary is simply a litmus test of our general state of disorientation and chronic state of personal self-survival, when a person ceases to rely on central authority.
The local authorities, by the way, played along with the mood and also made a decision - “you don’t need to come to us, that’s where you want, but you don’t need to come to us.”
This speaks of the amazing localization of our individual life, our uselessness to anyone. You protect your life, the lives of your relatives, your children, your parents as much as possible - even to the point of “not letting them in.” I would not be surprised that if our fellow citizens were transported not to the Poltava region, but to some other region, then in that particular place the situation would be the same.
And then the whole country would practice moralizing. But the reaction would be like this. Is it necessary to blame people, participants? I think not. Of course, there are hooligans, those who committed assault - there is an administrative and criminal code for that.
These are, first of all, accusations against the authorities, both central and local authorities, which (allowed this) through their policies.
This means that by this time the set of actions related to the preparation of the locality, individual social categories - for this test was at such a low level that people were everyone expecting this disease, based on what was available - I will have enough money for medicine tomorrow, I can where - to treat? And God forbid, I personally get sick, what should I do?
Completely simple, everyday questions. This means that in this situation they feel alone with life. And this speaks of the dehumanization of our organization of life in one state,” the political scientist stated.
