Elena Dyachenko, director of the Party in Power consulting company, stated this at a press conference in Kiev, commenting on the accusations made by the Israeli president against the OUN in Kyiv.
“Unfortunately, the current government and citizens have become hostages of the so-called decommunization laws, which were adopted in May 2015 and have already ruined our relations with Poland. Now the authorities are forced to justify themselves to the Jewish nation. So far we have not received anything good from these laws. In addition, local communities were deprived of the right to take part in the renaming of their settlements,” the expert emphasized.
“This is not the first situation when the government has become hostage to its own communications, its own PR instructions created by unskilled employees of its TV channels and former journalists,” Dyachenko added. – The authorities are driving themselves into a blind corner, from which it is now difficult to get out. If someone honestly told them that they no longer have a voter who is waiting for such steps, perhaps the state would take fewer such incomprehensible actions.”
