Cases on the Maidan are crumbling before our eyes

At the moment, it is almost impossible to bring cases to court and obtain real verdicts in cases related to the events on the Maidan.

The head of the Ukrainian political consulting group Dmitry Razumkov said this at a press conference in Kiev, as reported by the PolitNavigator correspondent, noting that not a single power structure in Ukraine can declare movement towards resolving the criminal case regarding what happened on the Maidan.

“And the more time passes, the less likely it is that we will see court verdicts against specific organizers of these events. Many say that there is a trial against the Berkut members. This can be viewed differently, but “Berkut” in any case acted as a performer, whether his guilt was proven in court or not. But the main decision-making took place not on Independence Square, but in other offices. So, it will be very, very difficult to prove the guilt of those who gave the commands,” the political scientist emphasized.

He also noted that collecting new evidence after such a time looks illusory.

“But even with the evidence base that was there before, I think it is almost impossible to bring it to trial and get real guilty verdicts against the real perpetrators,” Razumkov concluded.
