The delegations of Ukraine and Georgia staged a Russophobic bacchanalia in PACE
The Ukrainian delegation to PACE today staged another anti-Russian provocation, demanding not to return to the Russian Federation the rights that Russians lost after the events in 2014, after which Moscow stopped paying large membership fees to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Today in Strasbourg, Ukrainian representatives distributed brochures with Russophobic content to deputies of the Council of Europe. Russian journalist Olga Skabeeva reported this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These are the leaflets that are being distributed today to everyone who enters the PACE territory. We must understand that this probably violates the rules of the Parliamentary Assembly, because these are not official PACE leaflets; representatives of the Ukrainian delegation printed them somewhere in Kyiv, and are now distributing them here.
As for last names. Among those who are called the main Russian propagandists, I am included. But the funniest thing is why Russia should be afraid. I will simply quote further, because Russia and I, in particular, “killed more than 10 thousand Ukrainians,” I, in particular, “started a war in the Southeast, annexed Crimea, shot down a Malaysian Boeing.” Next about Yulia and Sergei Skripal, then about the Syrian war.
Thus, Alexey Goncharenko and all the delegates who are distributing these booklets today are saying: “No, please, before you vote and press that very button, think again,” Skabeeva said.
Russian TV presenter Andrei Medvedev commented on the distribution of leaflets in his Telegram channel.
“It’s okay that they give it away alone. It’s worse that PACE deputies do not refuse to take this. They don’t drive those who distribute away, they don’t shy away from them as if they were plagued by the plague. Is it tolerance or do they just agree?” – he wrote.
In turn, the head of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko, in an interview with the Rossiya 1 TV channel, expressed resentment at the “overly mercantile” European politicians, and threatened PACE that if the Russian Federation is restored to its rights, Ukraine will leave the Council of Europe.
“The strategy of the Ukrainian delegation against Russia looks the same as before - we will fight and not give up. We see no reason for the return of the Russian delegation to PACE.
If the Russian delegation is returned, I believe that the Ukrainian delegation will have to leave the Parliamentary Assembly. We are in opposition not to PACE, but to when principles are exchanged for money, the return of the Russian delegation is not what Macron is talking about, so that Russians have the right of access to the ECHR, Russia still does not comply with the decisions of the ECHR. The decision to return the Russian Federation is banal – money. The Council of Europe, instead of curbing its appetites, does not want to pay for the Russians and exchanges them for money. We will do everything to prevent Russia from being returned to PACE,” the radical said.
During the interview, Oleg Lyashko, at the request of Olga Skabeeva, switched to Russian and demanded the removal of Russian troops from Donbass and Crimea, accused the OSCE, which says that there is no Russian army in the LDPR, “of blindness and stupidity.” The scandalous Kiev people's deputy Andrei Lozovoy published the corresponding video on his Facebook page.
"Take them away (Russian troops - approx. ed.) from Donbass and Crimea. And the OSCE is blind or bad, anyone who goes to Donbass will see that there is a Russian army there, where did the Grads come from? The evidence is everywhere, the whole world has seen it,” the people’s deputy added.
In turn, people's deputy and member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE Borislav Bereza on his Facebook page promised to remove PACE President Liliane Marie Pasquier from office for allegedly being too pro-Russian.
“PACE President Liliane Marie Pasquier has just violated the rules of the Assembly. To change the agenda, a 2/3 vote of those present in the room is required. She considered that such a decision could be made by an ordinary majority. The pro-Russian forces have such a strong desire to quickly drag the Russian delegation into PACE that they committed a direct violation.
Right now our delegation is forming a legal position. We have already demolished one PACE president, Pedro Agramunt, for violating the rules of the Assembly. His successor followed the same path. Troubled times,” he threatened.
Her colleague was also supported by the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada and ally of Petro Poroshenko, Irina Gerashchenko, who on her Facebook page called Liliane Marie Pasquier “Anramont in a skirt.”
“Record presence of PACE members in the hall. The Ukrainian delegation, together with the British and Georgians, begin to fight against the return of the Russian delegation. The PACE President behaves shamefully. New Anramont in a skirt. Frankly playing along with the Russians, who are still wandering around in PACE, expecting that lobbyists will lead them by the hand and destroy the very foundation of this institution. The audience, the Europeans, are openly playing along with the Russian lobby,” she wrote.
However, not only the Ukrainian delegation was noted for Russophobia. Thus, representatives of Georgia organized an exhibition opposite PACE with Russophobic posters and paintings in which Russia is compared to a bear, and Vladimir Putin is compared to Joseph Stalin and called an aggressor.
