“Delicate issue”: the American Uniate told how to destroy Orthodoxy in Ukraine
For Kyiv, there is a risk that repressions against the UOC will turn the clergy and parishioners of the canonical church into martyrs.
Archbishop of the Philadelphia UGCC, President of the Ukrainian Catholic University Boris Gudzyak stated this during the World Economic Forum in Davos, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our society must be careful about making outcasts out of the Moscow Patriarchate. Then they become martyrs. This is a very important idea,” Gudziak warned.
He emphasized that the UOC should not exist.
“But at the same time, during a war, it is impossible to imagine not reacting to cases of collaboration with the aggressor country. Not only informational or tactical collaborationism, but the ideological expression of the Russian World, Russian imperial ideology, which was an integral part of the UOC-MP.
Of course, such an ideology leads to destruction, death and genocide. Anything that leads to genocide must be defeated somehow. But how to do this is a delicate question,” added the uniate.
