The “Guzhva case” is falling apart in court, but the journalist’s recognizance not to leave has been extended
A Kiev court extended the preventive measure for the editor-in-chief of the Strana publication, Igor Guzhva, accused in a political case in connection with inconvenient publications for the authorities about corruption in Petro Poroshenko’s entourage.

Guzhva himself announced this on his page on the social network, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“So, the court extended my preventive measure (not to leave Kyiv). True, not for 60 days, as the prosecutor’s office requested, but for 30,” he writes.
According to Guzhva, for him such a court decision was expected. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that important documents were announced at the court hearing that destroy the version of the investigation.
“The most important thing is the protocol for examining the phone, which contains my correspondence, from which it is clear that I refused to take the money offered to me for removing the article about Linko (although this in itself has nothing to do with extortion at all). So this trial is, albeit small, but our victory. It is already obvious that the system is stalling in its attempts to frame me for extortion, and therefore is forced to extend the investigation period and fabricate new cases (for example, about violation of state secrets),” writes the editor-in-chief of “Strana”.
“But new businesses will fall apart just like the old ones,” he summarizes.
