The case of Groysman’s fake diploma was closed “for lack of corpus delicti”
The Prosecutor General's Office closed the criminal proceedings regarding the diploma of Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman due to the lack of corpus delicti, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The day before, a resolution of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv appeared in the Unified Register of Judicial Decisions, from which it became known that access to Groysman’s personal student file was provided as part of this proceeding, the Kiev publication “Left Bank” reports.
“The investigation gained access to the file, which is stored at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, where the prime minister studied from 2000 to 2003 and received a bachelor’s and specialist’s degree in jurisprudence. Then the court agreed with the prosecutor’s office on the need to provide access for “a full and impartial investigation of criminal proceedings, establishing the factual circumstances of the commission of a criminal offense, as well as objective and factual data indicating the falsification of educational documents,” the publication says.
However, as the initiator of the criminal proceedings, People’s Deputy Vitaly Kupriy, told the publication (he assumes the diploma was forged), “the case was quietly closed at the end of last month.”
“Groysman and the Prosecutor General’s Office are one gang. In fact, the Prosecutor General's Office closed this case for the second time. I have received supporting documents. The last time I was called in for questioning was in March of this year, where they asked not about Groysman’s education and his fake diploma, but about my education. The case was closed at the end of March, and journalists in the news about the admission of investigators to the Groysman case refer to the resolution of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv dated March 12. Although the case was closed on March 27. Therefore, I again sent a complaint to the Pechersk court against the investigator’s decision. And I will seek to resume the investigation,” he said.
GPU press secretary Larisa Sargan, in turn, said that there is nothing special in checking Groysman’s diploma.
“We had a request from MP Vitaly Kupri. We received this request quite a long time ago. He asked to check the diploma of Prime Minister Vladimir Groysman. There is nothing unusual or special in checking Groysman’s diploma. We check all requests and respond to them in a legal manner,” she said.
