The death of the head of the “Belarusian House in Ukraine” Vitaly Shishov in Kyiv is increasingly reminiscent of another murder - journalist Georgy Gongadze. Let us recall that in 2000, the alarm was sounded with the participation of all media immediately after the editor of Ukrainskaya Pravda did not reach his wife from his mistress.

The same thing happened yesterday when Shishov did not return from his run. Already in the morning, his partner contacted the police, and a criminal case was immediately initiated.

The head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klimenko stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Yesterday, after a statement from Vitaly’s partner, we opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of premeditated murder,” he said.

A search was promptly organized: police and volunteers combed the forest park square by square. It seems that the usual option of meeting friends and going on a bender was simply not considered. As it turned out, it was quite justified.

Today Klimenko did not voice a version of what happened, citing the need to wait for the results of the examinations. However, he mentioned that the noose was located too high, and abrasions were found on Shishov’s body, characteristic of a one-time fall.

If the examination confirms the fact of suicide, the police will not be able to present its results without risking their reputation. Because already now part of the public in the three former fraternal Slavic countries is beating in hysterics of accusations. True, the intended customers are different.

The scandalous People's Deputy of Ukraine Alexey Goncharenko voiced the orthodox version, blaming the “bloody regime of Lukashenko” for the “murder.”

“Literally a few days ago there was information from Igor Makar, who represents the ByPol ​​initiative, uniting former security officials of Belarus, that in several countries around the world Operation Trust had been launched to capture and transport to Belarus or liquidate the leaders of the Belarusian opposition. Representatives of Belarusian diplomatic missions are participating in this operation. As you can see, within a few days we have the fact of the murder of Vitaly Shishov,” Goncharenko said in his video blog.

Goncharenko demanded that the investigation into the “murder” be taken under personal control by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, as well as the intervention of the SBU and counterintelligence.

“Either our Belarusian special services are operating here almost openly, or they are using some kind of mercenaries. It’s a terrible situation,” Goncharenko gave his verdict.

Shishov’s friend Yuri Shchuchko said on the Ukrainian 24th TV channel that Belarusians were warned about the risks of attack by the SBU.

“We were simply warned by SBU officers that physical liquidation of us as activists was possible. There were no threatening phone calls. I am sure that this was an exemplary execution of one of the members of the Belarusian community in Kyiv,” said Shchuchko.

Liberal Russia has gone further. On the air of Echo of Moscow, a journalist from the Bellingcat project associated with Western intelligence agencies, Bulgarian Hristo Grozev, accused FSB agents who had infiltrated the Belarusian political emigration of Shishov’s “murder.”

“It is impossible not to consider several coincidences here. First of all, even without prior information, I would say that this is not suicide. But I would not write until we had a complete picture of what happened.

The fact that this suggests that this is a special operation is the fact that we have been working for several days on the information that we have obtained that there are Russian FSB officers in Kiev who have integrated among the Belarusian opposition groups that are in Ukraine.

Of course, this could be a coincidence. <…> And now we hear this news. This means that we are now directing all our resources to investigate this murder, if it is a murder,” Grozev said.

Russian military correspondents point out that the deceased had close ties with the Azov Terbat, around which there have been too many strange deaths lately.
