The case of the dissolution of the Rada in the Constitutional Court has reached its final stage
The Constitutional Court of Ukraine has completed a study of the materials of the case on the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine Natalya Shaptala.
“The Constitutional Court has examined the materials of the case, and we can move on to the final statements of the parties,” Shaptala noted.
At the same time, she noted that participants in the process should invest 10 minutes, only outlining the main points of their positions. The first to make a closing speech was the representative of the President in the Constitutional Court Fyodor Venislavsky.
Let us remind you that today at 10 am the judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine began a hearing on the case to determine the constitutionality of the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada by President Vladimir Zelensky.
President Vladimir Zelensky personally arrived at the court. In his speech, Zelensky noted that for the first time the president came to the Constitutional Court, and did not call the judges to himself, and this testifies to his respect for them and the law.
“It’s not for me to tell you what the spirit and letter of the law are. I am confident that the decision to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada meets both of these criteria,” he said.
According to him, compliance with the “spirit of the law” is evidenced by many factors. In particular, Ukrainian citizens do not trust the Rada and applaud the decision to dissolve the Rada.
“And now society is watching this case very closely. You definitely know everything about this. And, I think, make a fair decision, for which we will not be ashamed before our people, and before all of Ukraine, and before our children,” Zelensky said.
He added that his legal position is “indisputable and impeccable,” which his representative in the Constitutional Court will prove.
