The Court of Appeal of The Hague rejected Ukraine's request to disqualify the judge in the “Scythian gold” case, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The judges' decision was published today on the court's website.

“The court: rejected the request for recusal,” the court ruling said.

It is reported that this decision was made at a public meeting on November 1, 2019, a copy of the decision will be sent to all parties to the said case.

In September, Ukraine filed a motion to disqualify a Dutch appeals court judge hearing the “Scythian gold” case due to possible bias of the presiding judge.

Earlier, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vladimir Borodyansky said that in his opinion Ukraine has a high chance of winning the “case of Scythian gold” being considered in the appeal court.
