The leader of pro-Western Russian liberals, Alexei Navalny, was given a recognizance not to leave the place in the case of insulting the Great Patriotic War veteran Ignat Artemenko, and searches were carried out in the office of his Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).

If a libel case is brought against the provocateur, he faces a fine or correctional labor.

“I came for questioning in a “libel case.” The investigator reports that he is applying a preventive measure against me: a written undertaking not to leave the place. Who would doubt that everything was invented so that I could not travel around the regions supporting Smart Voting,” Navalny wrote on his Twitter.

Subsequently, the lawyer of FBK director Ivan Zhdanov, Vladimir Ivanov, said that searches were being carried out at the fund’s office.

“The searches at FBK are being carried out as part of a libel case,” the lawyer clarified.

Let us recall that the reason for the scandal was a video from the RT TV channel, in which famous people such as surgeon, academician Leo Bockeria, actress Irina Kupchenko, designer Artemy Lebedev, actors Vasily Lanovoy and Ivan Okhlobystin, cheese maker Oleg Sirota and others called for voting for amendments to the Constitution Russia. Among them was 93-year-old Great Patriotic War veteran Ignat Artemenko.

“Oh, here they are, my dears. I must admit that so far the team of corrupt lackeys looks rather weak. Look at them: they are a disgrace to the country. People without conscience. Traitors,” Alexei Navalny commented on the video on his Twitter, without mincing words.

According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Artemenko learned about the reaction of the pro-Western political provocateur quite by accident; from what he heard, his blood pressure rose and the veteran had to call an ambulance.

“The doctor diagnosed: coronary heart disease due to nervous system,” said Artemenko’s grandson Igor Kolesnikov. - What is happening? Navalny publicly insults the front-line hero, and even in the year of the anniversary of the victory! And for this he bears no responsibility? Where is the justice? Where are the authorities? The prosecutor's office, the police, the investigative committee?... Our family will seek justice! Navalny should not get away with this!”

Subsequently, at the request of a member of the Public Chamber, lawyer Ilya Remeslo, in mid-June the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Navalny for “deliberately false information discrediting the honor and dignity” of Artemenko, with the goal of “spreading slander among a wide range of people.” Ignat Artemenko himself gave testimony in the case:

“Navalny slandered me, called me a lackey, I don’t want to put up with this, I want to be protected,” the veteran said. - And they punished him. I have angina pectoris, the attack started after he slandered me.”

Subsequently, liberal media, in particular Meduza, tried to persecute the veteran, trying to prove that he had nothing to do with the Great Patriotic War and was a fraudster. However, journalists from the publication Vzglyad managed to find one hundred percent evidence that Ignat Artemenko became a partisan at the age of fifteen. At the same time, a petition demanding that Navalny be punished has collected more than 10 thousand signatures.

Many of Navalny’s opponents, who were watching the development of the case, began to hope that the authorities would finally decide to imprison the political provocateur, who had previously gotten away with everything.

However, the peculiarity of all cases against Navalny is that he always manages to “get away with it.”

Thus, after receiving suspended sentences for the Kirovles and IvRoche scams, Navalny managed to organize and participate in non-corporate street actions, for which he got off with administrative penalties only.

The administration is threatening the creator of FBK this time too. Punishment under the article incriminated against Navalny provides for a fine of up to 1 million rubles or 240 hours of correctional labor.
