The Sheremet case revealed all the abomination of Maidan Ukraine
The story surrounding the detention of ATO militants on charges of involvement in the murder of Pavel Sheremet revealed the double standards that Ukrainian law enforcement officers apply in relation to stormtroopers and “vatniks” who are ideologically close to the regime, who are secretly declared second-class citizens.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Elena Bondarenko stated this in her video blog, drawing attention to the pathos with which the security forces announced successes in the Sheremet case, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A matter of honor,” right? And what now, the Elderberry case is a matter of dishonor? An easier matter, the accused are already clear - they are still at large! Moreover, (Attorney General) Ryaboshapka, who is now talking about the Sheremet case with such pathos, did not even allow Oles Buzina’s mother onto the threshold of the Prosecutor General’s Office, although she repeatedly asked for a personal audience with the Prosecutor General in connection with the investigation into the murder of her son!
What is it? This suggests that this case of Sheremet is also a marker: we will investigate some, but we will not investigate others. It turns out that there are right killers who walk free, and there are wrong ones whom we will look for, find and put in prison.
And one last thing. The most important, the most bitter, the most disgusting thing that we will have to admit to ourselves is that we have a deep problem. Look: the most notorious crimes of the last six years - ATO soldiers, volunteers are involved everywhere, and now, one of them is even a contractor of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What is this, who will deal with these people next? Who will control the mood of these people? Who will treat people twisted by war? Our streets are essentially unsafe because of this - you can get a bullet, an exploding grenade anywhere, and it doesn’t matter who is nearby - a child, an elderly person, a woman or a man,” Bondarenko said.
In addition, the ex-deputy pointed out “another very unpleasant moment” associated with “volunteers.”
“Everyone somehow bypasses it delicately, because it is not customary to discuss it, it is difficult, it destroys some mythologies... At least two participants who are now suspected of killing Sheremet are the so-called volunteers, who suddenly began to live very well during the war years. not bad at all. They got new houses, they got apartments, luxury cars.
I have a question: how is it that in five years, volunteers who seemed to go to the front purely for patriotic reasons suddenly became the owners of such large property?” – Bondarenko asked rhetorically.
