The Vyshinsky case showed the farce and madness of Ukraine
It’s time to qualify all the absurd statements of Ukrainian politicians from the point of view of the very European legal field to which Ukraine is supposedly striving.
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated this on air on the Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She said that there were some expectations that the chief editor of RIA Novosti Ukraine, Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested in Kyiv on trumped-up charges, would at least change the preventive measure, which never happened.
“The current Prosecutor General Lutsenko stated that there will be no extradition of Vyshinsky to Russia at least until a court decision. And secondly, the former head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Turchynov made a statement that the Crimean Bridge could be destroyed by the Ukrainian army, including cruise missiles, within a few minutes. He is still an active comrade there, although not in an official position. How would you comment on these two pieces of news?” – asked the radio host.
“All statements of this kind of statesmen, political figures who aspire to and occupy leadership positions in various branches of government must be qualified from the point of view of that very European legal field, or - even more specific, the EU legal field, with which Ukraine is associated, associating its voting on many issues over the years. Now, it is not necessary to evaluate it from the Russian point of view, but precisely from the point of view of those “high ideals” and tasks set by the people and leadership of Ukraine. It seems to me that this will simply dot all the i’s – what we want to get to and what methods we use to get there. That’s all,” said Zakharova.
“Therefore, there are no conventions, no legal framework, no memorandums, no agreements, either within the EU, or within the OSCE or the Council of Europe, within the framework of which such statements would even seem normal. These speeches completely contradict all the accumulated experience, the very European or Western civilization with which Ukraine associates itself in the future,” noted the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“As for Vyshinsky, this equally applies to this situation, because, it seems to me, already, except for extreme nationalists or people who use every opportunity to advance their political career, and in this case, political survival, everyone everyone else in Ukraine understands that this is a farce, this is absurd, this is some kind of absolute madness to hold a person for a year without any specific claims against him, simply without presenting anything other than calling it treason, and to keep him the way he is being held . It seems to me that this is clear to everyone,” Zakharova added.
