“The only thing left to do is to destroy the Black Sea Fleet” - a Kiev expert on the return of Crimea
To return Crimea to Ukraine, first of all, it only needs to recapture the Donbass and Kherson region, as well as destroy the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
Deputy Director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Research (CIACR) Mikhail Samus stated this on air on Unian, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We will start talking about Crimea when we liberate Donbass, liberate the South, and then we will look at the situation in Russia itself. I think a moment will come when Russia itself will begin negotiations on how to resolve the issue with Crimea, and Ukraine will not liberate it by military means, but will simply go there, because Russia will leave Crimea.
But, first of all, the destruction of the Black Sea Fleet is not even discussed here; it must be destroyed. The Black Sea Fleet is an absolutely destructive factor not only in the Black Sea, but also in the Black Sea-Mediterranean region in general, and Ukraine needs to take leadership in this process,” he said.
“We are now receiving the necessary weapons, and the Black Sea Fleet must be destroyed. After this, the situation in the Black Sea will stabilize, Ukrainian ports will be unblocked, and the economic situation will improve. Naturally, Crimea will look completely different without the Black Sea Fleet,” Samus raved.
