Economist Mikhail Delyagin stated this on air on the Tsargrad TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the next three years we will have a 100% devaluation. It can be debated whether it will be at the end of this summer or early next year. But most likely it will be soon,” Delyagin frightens.
At the same time, he believes, devaluation will not have a positive impact on the economy. One should not expect that exports will become more profitable, and that a reduction in imports will stimulate domestic producers.
“The devaluation of the ruble today will not boost the economy much, because we practically do not produce machinery. Almost all the equipment that we use is imported. If the ruble is devalued, ruble imports will become unavailable. The state must make titanic efforts to educate engineers and workers. I doubt that Mr. Oreshkin (Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation – ed.) will make at least some effort to develop the country,” Delyagin said.
