Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova told reporters about this today.
According to her, a ban was imposed on the entry of the famous political scientist Mikhail Delyagin, correspondent of the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper Daria Aslamova, and other scientists and journalists. Assistants to the head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and many other Russian representatives from various fields were subject to similar sanctions measures.
“Such actions cause growing misunderstanding and negative public resonance in Russia, become a serious irritant to bilateral relations, and jeopardize economic, business, cultural and simply human ties. It seems that Chisinau is trying with all its might to demonstrate its loyalty to certain Western partners, probably counting on some political and financial bonuses. Otherwise, it’s very difficult to understand the logic,” Zakharova said.
The Russian Foreign Ministry regards Moldova’s actions as “an openly unfriendly and provocative step.”
Official Chisinau this year blocked the rotation of Russian peacekeepers in Transnistria, expelled Russian diplomats, and declared Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin persona non grata.
