The demarche is over: Ukraine swallowed the return of the Russian delegation to PACE
Ukraine stops its demarche and returns to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Member of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the parliamentarian, the decision on the return will be made by the Verkhovna Rada this week.
"Lightning! This week the Verkhovna Rada will adopt a resolution on the resumption of Ukraine’s participation in the work of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. Today this decision will be approved by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on International Affairs. The next PACE session will begin on January 27 in Strasbourg,” the deputy wrote.
Goncharenko’s information was confirmed in his blog by Taras Berezovets, a political strategist serving the interests of ex-President Petro Poroshenko.
“Ukraine will return its delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. According to sources, the corresponding decision will be approved today by the Rada Committee on International Affairs. The PACE session in Strasbourg will open on January 27. The head of the Ukrainian delegation is MP from the SN Liza Yasko,” Berezovets said.
Previously Ukraine decided not to send its delegation to the autumn session of PACE. The reason was the restoration of the powers of the delegation of the Russian Federation.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Ukrainian delegation to PACE has repeatedly was marked by wild Russophobic antics.
