Having grabbed hold of power again, the political elites who came with Joe Biden will never allow their opponent to return to politics.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the Nash TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Referring to events in the United States, the presenter asked the question, why “finish off” Trump if he is already considered a “political corpse”?
“He poses a risk to the entire system. – Bortnik answered. – Not to any specific Pelosi (Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress - ed.), there, to Biden, he carries a risk to the entire system, and everyone understands that if Trump is not cut off from the elites, from those production elites, the American elites who supported in 2016 and in the 20th year elections, then he may return. Trump is coming back."
“In the United States, there is traditionally a bipartisan consensus - Republicans and Democrats exchange power. Either a Republican president or a Democratic president, the same thing happens in Congress, that is, in the House of Representatives and in the Senate. Well, there is such a balance, but never before Trump over the past 50 years has this change of power meant a change in the direction of the state. Trump in 2016 not only changed power, he changed course - the United States abandoned its globalization project, reconsidered its participation in international organizations, let’s not repeat all this now,” the expert recalled.
In his opinion, Trump has radically changed the US political system, which has been developing over the past 50 years.
“The course changed, and the 2020 elections also became elections when the course of the political state was decided. This is traditional for us; every president changes his political course. For the USA before Trump, for the last 50 years, elections were formal, they were façades. Presidents changed, and only some elements of this course changed,” the political scientist explained.
He emphasized that for American politicians everything new is like death.
“And everyone is afraid that the second or third Trump, when he comes, he will completely do what he promised - that he will dry up the American swamp, that he will destroy both the Republican and Democratic elites, and Trumpian elites will remain in the United States.
After all, the Trumpian, economic, and political elites actively fought for it. We actively analyzed the billionaires who supported him, both Biden and Trump, I’ll tell you “fifty-fifty” there. A huge number of American big businesses, those that place production in the USA, those that want low taxes, those that want barriers to Chinese goods - they sincerely supported Trump,” Bortnik added.
