Democrats are indignant: Trump ignores Ukraine
Washington made a mistake by sending an insufficiently important representative to the inauguration of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Michael Carpenter, a former Pentagon official and director of the Biden Analytical Center, said this in an interview with Voice of America, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The representative of the Democratic Party criticized the current US leadership for the fact that they mistakenly do not see their sphere of interests in Ukraine.
“It is a mistake to send only the Minister of Energy, and not someone more senior in rank. At least Secretary of State Michael Pompeo. I was hoping that Vice President Pence might come. I didn't see anything important in his schedule that would keep him here in Washington. Ukraine is a strategic country for the United States. This is a country where the principles of the entire international order are at stake in the face of ongoing Russian aggression,” Carpenter said.
Note that the personal lawyer of the US President Rudolph Giuliani stated that Zelensky is surrounded by enemies of the United States.
