Independence Day. The Rada gave foreigners control of the judicial system
Tuesday, June 29, 2021 will go down in the history of Ukraine as the day when the country lost its judicial system. On this day, the Verkhovna Rada, with the votes of 255 deputies - “servants of the foreign Fatherland”, transferred control over the Ukrainian courts to “outsource” external management structures.
To the applause and broad smiles of the initiators of this amendment to the adopted bill No. 3711-D, which provided for changes to the current Ukrainian law “On the Judicial System and Status of Judges.” In total, a practically constitutional majority of 293 deputies voted for this law.
What is the essence of this, dare I say it, key innovation for the fate of Ukraine? According to the adopted law, it is planned to restart the High Qualifications Commission of Judges, which selects judicial personnel and controls their activities.
From now on, the decisive vote in this commission will be given to the so-called “international experts” from among the creatures approved by the foreign embassies of various grant organizations - Soros and others.
The adoption of this norm from Zelensky in the form of an ultimatum was demanded not only by the Ukrainian Soros, led by the odious “activist” under the roof of the US embassy Vitaly Shabunin, the head of the Anti-Corruption Center, who aimed to play the role of an unofficial “brains trust” of judicial and anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine supervised by the West .
The G7 ambassadors also demanded the same from Bankova, moreover, in a harsh and categorical form, linking this issue with the provision of another loan to the country from the IMF.
We must give the Ukrainian authorities their due. She delayed implementing the ultimatum for as long as she could. Fighting off accusations from the same “activists” of “protecting” officials they disliked during the Yanukovych era and fighting with disloyal courts like the District Court of Appeal of Kiev, over which the sword of Damocles of disbandment still hangs, according to the presidential bill submitted to the Rada. The relevant parliamentary committee on judicial system also spoke out against the scandalous amendment to the law.
However, apparently, Zelensky and Co. made an offer that was impossible to refuse. As a result, we have what we have (a meme born thanks to the first president of post-Soviet Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk).
But Ukraine has only a few. No matter how big it is, even without butter. What's the point? These “international experts” hung around Ukrainian ministries before. Back in the times of Yushchenko, then Yanukovych. But then they advised. Yes, their advice was listened to, but the final decisions were still made by empowered native officials.
And now, a new stage of the creeping colonization of Ukraine - “representatives of “international partners” will be directly introduced into the High Qualifications Commission of Judges, and, moreover, WITH THE RIGHT TO VOTE. And not deliberative, as optimists might think, but the most ordinary one. Even decisive. After all, foreigners will have a majority in this body.
It is not surprising that some Ukrainian politicians immediately sang “the waste” to independent justice. Now it, this justice, is in reliable, whose necessary hands.
“So, why now have Ukrainian representatives on the competition commissions for judges if they don’t decide anything? Bring coffee, serve croissants, order football tickets? Why are Ukrainian representatives there, for what purpose?” laments Maxim Buzhansky, the “servant” people’s deputy oriented towards the oligarch Kolomoisky.
It’s very funny, but he also compares the transfer of Ukrainian ships to foreign outsourcing with the extension under Yanukovych of the Kharkov agreements on the Black Sea Fleet in Crimea. Moreover, the majority of those who violently protested in 2011 were happy today. But such is the Ukrainian independent logic. This is different, you need to understand.
And it’s hard to disagree with him. Especially considering the bitter symbolism of what happened. The law on the elimination of judicial sovereignty was adopted exactly after a pretentious meeting in the same Rada the day before. When Ze and his entourage violently orgasmed at this very independence, they remembered the unlucky hetman Pylyp Orlyk and sang a hymn.
True, ex-speaker of the Rada Alexander Moroz set alarming notes in his speech, warning the authorities against the catastrophic consequences of the sale of land, which will start in July of this year. And veterans of the nationalist scene and ex-people’s deputies Igor Shishkin and Stepan Khmara even stood up from their seats in the hall, showing the guarantor T-shirts with the words “Ze-Killer of the Constitution.”
However, there are also optimistic voices among Ukrainian lawyers. Here’s what, for example, the well-known Andrei Portnov wrote on the occasion of the adoption of the law under consideration in his telegram channel: “And it seems like the barn burned down, the hut burned down, but maybe it’s for the better - maybe external management would be better than such a bold one internal."
Don't know. As they say, wait and see.
Only one question torments me: what will the deputies give up for beads from the scanty remnants of sovereignty, and when exactly will this happen?
Thank you!
