Defender of the Fatherland Day has returned to its real meaning - volunteer
The conduct of a special military operation returned the original meaning to the Defender's Day holiday, which we celebrate on February 23.
This opinion was expressed on ForPost by a military volunteer, head of the charity foundation “Good of the World – Volunteers of Crimea” Valeria Petrusevich.
“Now we are all in such circumstances when our guys are defending the Motherland, defending the Republic of Crimea, and I would like to wish us, first of all, responsibility and awareness of what we are doing and for what. So that the future that we begin after the special operation will be based on those mistakes, on the experience that we experienced. So that we do not repeat it in the following situations. Because all the guys we communicate with are military personnel with extensive experience - none of them like war, do not like combat. And everyone dreams of this ending.
Therefore, strength and confidence for us. I am absolutely confident in victory and that we will reach the end. I don’t know what victory should look like, but I have no doubt that our guys will achieve it, will achieve it.”
The participation of women in achieving victory is equal and equal, since without an emotional connection with the rear, the fighters lose a point of reference as to why and for what they are fighting, and who they are protecting.
“Russian women are now showing themselves in all qualities, as evidenced by the number of women who have joined the work in the rear, who help in completely different ways: they cook trench candles, make camouflage nets. Every time I go to the front line, the girls prepare homemade cakes. It’s clear that this is not the main humanitarian aid that we bring – thermal imagers, cars, but when we fill them with these fragrant gifts, it helps,” Petrusevich is sure. – This connection between the rear and the front, of course, on the front line, these are unattainable things that the guys really value.
And in the home front, it is very important for girls to put a piece of their care, attention, experience, love into what they do. We have “Vestochka”, which we have already launched throughout Russia - dry soups, borscht and porridge. This project, which was launched in Simferopol, is now being implemented in 34 cities - girls sublimate, dry vegetables, assemble real soups and borscht from them, 5 minutes in hot water and even in a mug, in the field, real tasty borscht is ready. The guys really appreciate them and always ask and wait for them.”
