No money: Ukraine is unsuccessfully waiting for a tranche from the last major creditor
Ukraine is unsuccessfully seeking a new tranche of loans from the IMF, the last major lender to lend money to Kyiv. However, apparently, at least until the end of 2016, the Ukrainian side will not see the promised tranche.
This is recognized by the newspaper “Zerkalo Nedeli”, which is considered influential in Kyiv.

“Receipt of the tranche this year is extremely unlikely, and it is unclear when it might be provided next year—not only local observers are still more pessimistic about this,” the publication says.
The publication recalls that, without waiting for the tranche, the previous government in Ukraine, headed by Arseniy Yatsenyuk, resigned.
Referring to sources close to the negotiations, the newspaper lists the next “unpopular” demands of the IMF put forward to Ukraine in exchange for a new loan: reducing the number of early retirement categories, introducing effective mechanisms for extracting debts from the population at increased housing and communal services tariffs, etc.
