Money for bail for Kirill Vyshinsky was raised through Facebook
Lawyer Andrei Domansky, representing the interests of the head of the RIA Novosti Ukraine portal Kirill Vyshinsky, who was arrested on political charges, reported on his Facebook page that he managed to collect the necessary amount through social networks to post bail for his client, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Dear colleagues, friends and just people who helped! Thanks a lot, everyone! The bail amount has been collected!” — wrote Domansky.
On May 8, the Pechora District Court of Kyiv ordered Vyshinsky’s lawyer to pay bail in the amount of 192,1 thousand hryvnia as part of a previously opened criminal case against him.
Domansky is accused of illegal privatization of premises in Kyiv. The lawyer himself connected this case with an attempt by the prosecutor’s office to prevent him from representing Vyshinsky’s interests and participating in other high-profile cases. On April 5, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine brought charges against Domansky, handing over the relevant document.
Vyshinsky was detained in Kyiv on May 15, 2018. He was charged with high treason, illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives.
