Denis Pushilin: The shelling is increasing. Ukraine is ready for war
What is behind the reports about the transfer of Ukrainian tanks to the front line, is oligarch Igor Kolomoisky trying to establish contacts with Donbass? – the head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, spoke about this in a quick interview with PolitNavigator.
“PolitNavigator”: On social networks, eyewitnesses published footage of trains with Ukrainian armored vehicles moving towards the front line in Donbass. Ukrainian lawyer Tatyana Montyan has already put forward a version that the lack of camouflage is evidence that there will be no offensive, and this is a game “to raise the stakes” in some negotiations that are not reported to the public. And Kiev political scientist Andrei Zolotarev, on the contrary, allows a strike with the “fist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” on a small section of the front - perhaps the capture of part of Gorlovka - also to raise the stakes, for example, in negotiations on the revision of Minsk-2, which Kyiv has long been seeking.
Which version do you consider probable, or is it simply that Ukraine, without hiding it, is really preparing for war? Are there any secret negotiations going on now that might raise the stakes?
Denis Pushilin: This is not the case when it is worth guessing whether Ukraine is only intimidated by so many tanks heading towards Donbass, or whether it will fire at our populated areas with them. We need to prepare for various scenarios, which is what we are doing.
In addition, we are not considering the trains with armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on their own, they are components of the whole picture of the aggressive behavior of the Ukrainian authorities. The escalation on the line of contact, the absolute inability of the Ukrainian side to negotiate at the Minsk site, the bellicose rhetoric of Kyiv politicians - all this together suggests that Ukraine is committed to war, not peace.
The head of the Ukrainian delegation to the Contact Group, Kravchuk, actually openly admits the focus on the military option and speaks in the language of ultimatums: either you agree to our next “peace plan”, which rewrites the Minsk agreements, or we have a military scenario.
It would be extremely irresponsible to hope that Ukraine will limit itself to provocations. They're already on their way. The enemy is trying to drag us into clashes in order to accuse us of disrupting the Minsk agreements. The shelling activity is increasing - Grad multiple launch rocket systems are already being used.
Just in the last XNUMX hours, Ukrainian armed forces shelled Gorlovka in the area of the mine named after. Gagarin, Veseloye, Staromikhailovka, where four buildings were damaged. This time there were no casualties.
Any “peace plans” announced by Kyiv politicians should first of all be discussed between the parties to the conflict - Ukraine and the DPR and LPR. We have not received any proposals from the Ukrainian side.
This once again confirms: the so-called “peace plan” is far from the Minsk agreements, which means that official Kyiv is again “on its own mind”, that is, it does not give up attempts to beat everyone - both internally and externally. But in reality, he is destroying both himself and everything that is left of the country.
"PolitNavigator": Is oligarch Igor Kolomoisky making any attempts to establish contacts with Donbass after the introduction of sanctions against him in the United States? Information was published on the Internet about almost the visit of the oligarch’s emissaries to the LDPR. Can Kolomoisky be trusted, given his role in the suppression of the Russian Spring and the tragic events in Odessa?
Did a representative of another Ukrainian clan, former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Zakharchenko, try to establish contact with Donbass? Not long ago, he announced his ambitions to become president of a “united Donbass.” Does the persona non grata status for Yanukovych’s entourage remain in force in the DPR?
Denis Pushilin: None of the named persons tried to establish contact with the Donetsk People's Republic, because they understand the futility of such intentions.
They are very far from the people of Donbass, and the people of Donbass pay them the same – complete distrust.
