Denisov: “The documents signed by Zelensky in the USA affect the national security of the Russian Federation”
Moscow
There is no point in brushing aside and calling the latest visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Washington insignificant.
The director of the Institute of Peacemaking Initiatives and Conflictology, Denis Denisov, said this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The concluded agreements indicate a very serious preparation of the visit. There is no point in brushing it off and considering it insignificant, because a number of documents directly affect Russian national security. Cooperation in the Black Sea is one of the main topics within which Ukraine and the United States will jointly put pressure on the Russian Federation. The agreement on $3 billion in aid is also important for Kyiv,” Denisov told Izvestia.
Let us recall that in the United States Zelensky signed several documents, including: a memorandum on the construction of five power units of the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant worth about $30 billion, an agreement on the strategic framework of the defense partnership until 2026, providing for joint “ensuring security in the Black Sea,” as well as a memorandum on mutual understanding on space flight safety. In addition, the US Export-Import Bank intends to allocate $3 billion to Ukraine.
In addition, the expert believes that if it is possible to implement the plan for reforming Ukraine announced by Zelensky (80 projects, the implementation of which will require $277 billion), then a new model of state will appear in the post-Soviet space - on the one hand, it will be very dependent on Western partners, but on the other hand, it will be provided with a certain economic growth. Denisov believes that for some countries such a model may seem attractive.
