Denisova gathered to visit the Ukrainian sailors who had surrendered
The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova intends, at the first opportunity, to visit the crews of Ukrainian Navy boats who surrendered after the incident in the Kerch Strait.
He stated this at a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Unfortunately, the Russian Federation has not yet decided who will be the investigator, who will conduct this case on our prisoners of war. But the status of detainees is the status of prisoners of war. I agree with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Russian Federation so that she facilitates my visit. But the decision is made by the investigator. As soon as his name is known, I will definitely contact him. And as soon as permission is received, I will definitely go to our sailors,” she said.
Previously, Denisova had already traveled to the territory of the Russian Federation, where she unsuccessfully tried to get into the colony of Ukrainian citizen Oleg Sentsov, convicted of preparing a terrorist attack in Crimea.
