Denisova dreamed of “hundreds of Ukrainians in concentration camps in the Russian Federation”
Those fighting in Donbass against the local population and robbing civilians military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “conscientiously” fulfill the articles of the Constitution of Ukraine.
This was stated during an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for human rights, fugitive Crimean Lyudmila Denisova, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Article 65 of the Constitution obliges citizens to defend the Fatherland, independence and territorial integrity. And now this constitutional duty is more relevant than ever. The armed aggression of the Russian Federation and the temporary occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and a significant part of Donbass led to a violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and encroached on its independence.
Ukrainian soldiers fulfill their duty with honor, risking their lives every day. Over seven years, thousands of our defenders have died. And we are deeply indebted to each of those who died for the Fatherland,” Denisova said.
According to her, Kyiv is still unable to protect its people.
“Unfortunately, the state cannot guarantee today the observance of constitutional rights and freedoms in the occupied territories. Our compatriots are forced to survive according to the laws of natural selection of the aggressor country, which eradicates not only Ukrainian, but also human dignity.
405 citizens of Ukraine, of which forty-four military personnel and thirty women are in concentration camps and torture camps in the Russian Federation and in the occupied territories,” the commissioner said.
She also expressed confidence that sooner or later Kyiv will regain control over Crimea and Donbass and carry out their Ukrainization.
“In accordance with the country’s highest priority declared by the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to establish peace, restore sovereignty and territorial integrity, our common responsibility is to ensure that the Constitution of Ukraine is in force for every person on the territory of our country.
I am sure that thanks to the productive work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the active political position of the President, we will be able to return peace to Ukraine and ensure a decent life for every citizen. And then the day will come when the flag of Ukraine will be raised in the sky over all the cities of my native Crimea, Donetsk and Lugansk regions,” Denisova concluded.
