If we had known how Maidan would turn out for Ukraine, it would have been better to leave Viktor Yanukovych as the country’s president. Dmitry Gordon, deputy of the Kyiv City Council from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, stated this on Radio Liberty.

According to the deputy, he personally would not have taken part in the Maidan if he had known what the consequences would be.

If we knew how Maidan would turn out for Ukraine, it would be better to leave the country as president...

“If I knew then, on the very first day of the Maidan, when I appeared there, that more than 10 thousand people would die, that many would return crippled without arms and legs, that there would be so many destitute people in the country, I would not go to the Maidan . From the point of view of any mother who would lose her son, yes, it would be better if Yanukovych remained,” Gordon said.
