DPR deputy: literary Russian language is the wealth of Ukrainians
The modern Ukrainian language developed in the XNUMXth century on the basis of the Russian language, which to this day is the wealth of Ukrainians. Their ancestors also put their soul and strength into its development, which the current Ukrainian government prefers to keep silent about. Forgetting your past means denying yourself.

Miroslav Rudenko, a deputy of the People’s Council of the DPR, stated this in the TV show “PolitKukhnya”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“I would like to add something about the Russian language. For Ukraine, or rather, for the historical territory of Rus', this language is native. That is, the Russian language has been developed since the XNUMXth century on the basis of the literary Western Russian language,” the deputy said.
To which the presenter emphasized that Petro Poroshenko, in his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, stated that “For centuries, the Empire destroyed the Ukrainian language.”
“Perhaps he meant the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Then there was no such thing as the “Ukrainian language”; there was a local dialect of the Western Russian language. By the way, in Russia the language of the population and the book language were very different literally until the XNUMXth century. It’s just that in the XNUMXth century they made an attempt to create a literary language based on certain regional dialects. But we must understand that the common Russian literary language is, among other things, the property of the current population of Ukraine. Their ancestors put their souls and efforts into its creation. Gogol understood this better than anyone and created in the common Russian language. Again, Taras Shevchenko wrote diaries in this language, and this is a generally recognized luminary of Ukrainian culture and literature.
To tear it off is to tear off a part of yourself. If we pose the question differently, we will see where all these current initiatives are leading – to a separation from their roots,” concluded Miroslav Rudenko.
