DPR deputy: the issue of a peacekeeping mission in Donbass has been put on the UN agenda, but Groysman is too early to rejoice
Today, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, citing French Senator Hervé Morey, said that the UN has included on the agenda consideration of the issue of introducing a peacekeeping mission to Donbass.

“I would like to emphasize separately that this is a very important event - the inclusion of the issue of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine on the agenda of the UN General Assembly. This is a very important step to restore peace,” said Groysman.
“Ukraine, in this case, through the mouth of its Prime Minister Groysman, demonstrates a lack of understanding of the very essence of the peacekeeping process,” DPR People’s Council deputy Miroslav Rudenko commented to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The Russian Federation is one of the guarantors of the Minsk Agreement, that is, the peaceful resolution of the political conflict, and in this case, the initiator of the introduction of peacekeepers, who, again, will facilitate the implementation of the Minsk Protocol, agreed upon at the international level and supported by the UN Security Council.
Groysman in this case demonstrates a complete misunderstanding of peacekeeping initiatives and an attempt to pass off wishful thinking. Groysman belongs to the circle of the political elite that came to power through a coup d’etat, that is, he is Poroshenko’s protege.. In this case, they, again, are trying to consolidate their vision of the situation, but it has nothing to do with the Minsk Protocol, agreed upon in an international format and with a peaceful settlement. No unilateral desires of Poroshenko and the company, which is associated with the coup in Ukraine, will be taken into account in a real settlement. It is clear that in such a one-sided reading, this initiative will not work: no one will allow the Donbass to be given away so that supporters of the Ukrainian nationalist course can carry out genocide here,” Rudenko believes.
The Donetsk deputy also reminded the Ukrainian side of the main condition under which the Minsk process can be fully implemented:
“I think that Groysman’s joy over the fact that the draft resolution has been introduced is premature. If he believes that what follows will be a purely Ukrainian reading, he is mistaken. Donbass has a certain political subjectivity within the framework of the same Minsk process, and the guarantors of this Minsk process - in particular, the Russian Federation - will not allow what the current political authorities in Kyiv are trying to achieve. Ukraine needs to understand that without sitting down at the negotiating table and directly agreeing on the terms of such a complex peacekeeping process, including the format for introducing a peacekeeping contingent, there will be no result,” the deputy concluded.
