Donetsk and Lugansk must become part of Russia. State Duma deputy Vitaly Milonov said this on air on the ATO Donetsk Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, Donbass has no other way than reunification with the Russian Federation - the region must be treated the same as Crimea and Sevastopol.
“If it were my will, of course, citizens of the DPR and LPR could vote not only as citizens of Russia, but also as people living on the territory of Russia. This is my position - the DPR and LPR should become part of the Russian Federation. There is simply no other way out and cannot be.
We need to look at this situation objectively – what are the alternatives? Leaving it the way it is now is difficult, I would say almost impossible.
Returning to Ukraine is generally an excluded option, never in life.
There is only one path left, only the path to Russia. Yes, there will be new sanctions, there will be squeals, squeaks - the Poles, all sorts of different Baltic states will lead round dances. Well, what, they don’t drive now? Now someone loves us, now someone respects us?
No. Look at Crimea. They threatened sanctions regarding Crimea, but as a result, Crimea itself caused the smallest wave of sanctions than any other events in Russia. That is, this is a reason.
“Many of the sanctions that were applied against us were applied because there was simply political will, nothing more,” Milonov said.
