State Duma deputy: We will fight for every ruble allocated to Crimea from the Russian budget
Crimea is in a special position in Russia, and all programs for its development must be fully funded, despite the crisis. This was stated today at a press conference in Moscow by Konstantin Bakharev, a member of the Russian State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation.

“Crimea is a special region because we have special needs. Today we are trying to do what in Soviet times was called the “five-year plan in three years.” We are trying to ensure a breakthrough in socio-economic development by 2020 and do the amount of work that other constituent entities of the Russian Federation have done over decades. Therefore, we will fight in the State Duma for every ruble allocated from the federal budget,” Bakharev said.
The deputy believes that after 2020, when all infrastructural restrictions on the development of the peninsula’s economy are lifted, Crimea will become self-sufficient and will be able to provide for its needs.
According to Bakharev, on November 2 the State Duma will consider a special procedure for the formation and execution of the budget in Crimea and Sevastopol. It involves exceptions from the budget legislation of the Russian Federation. In particular, the budget of new regions will be formed not for three years, but for one.
