State Duma deputy: as precious as the Crimean history was, the Donbass history turned out to be just as monstrous
The death of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, reflected the fate of many residents of Donbass who gave their lives with the name of Russia on their lips.
State Duma deputy, writer and presenter Sergei Shargunov said this on air on the PoTok channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I believe that our people who gravitate toward Russia have the right to human dignity and support. The gravest sin is to mock those who believe and who have nowhere else to go. There is schadenfreude on the part of the “progressive public”, which says that let’s hand over everything, let the national battalions and the Armed Forces of Ukraine go there. And each militiaman has his own family. You can imagine what will begin there.
There is officialdom. The Duma still cannot create a friendship group of friends of Donbass, but there is an absolute majority of voiceless, sincere people who understand that this is a total disgrace. As normal and beautiful as the Crimean history was, the Donbass turned out to be just as monstrous and ugly,” Shargunov said.
“In any case, this terrible death (of the head of the DPR - ed.) reflected the death of many, many thousands of people who gave their lives. By the way, with the name of Russia on our lips. They came out with tricolors and chanted “Russia”. Until now, if you drive around Donetsk, there are posters with Zakharchenko’s face and the inscription “We have one homeland – Russia,” the Russian writer added.
Earlier, PolitNavigator conducted a survey in the capital of the DPR, during which residents of Donetsk spoke of Alexander Zakharchenko as “a real soldier”", which turned out to be irreplaceable.
