State Duma Deputy: A monkey with a grenade poses a danger not only to Donbass
Ukraine’s use of Bayraktars in the Donbass in violation of the Minsk agreements is the reason for Moscow’s sharp reaction to Kyiv and Ankara.
This is stated in a statement by State Duma deputy Evgeny Popov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The day before, Kyiv committed a war crime. The Ukrainian Armed Forces used the Turkish Bayraktar TB2 reconnaissance and strike unmanned system in the Donbass for the first time. Medium-altitude UAV with long flight duration.
In total, the Ukrainian army has six Turkish combat drones. In September, Kyiv said it planned to purchase 24 more in the next few months.
I consider it necessary:
- contact ICAO, the international civil aviation organization, with a demand to close the airspace over the territory of Ukraine for the sake of flight safety. Let me remind you: the altitude ceiling of Bayraktar TB2 is about 8 km, and civil airliners fly at an altitude of 7-13 km.
- Recommend the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to initiate the convening of an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. The combat use of unmanned strike aircraft in Europe is a sufficient reason.
- Provide the Donbass republics, where, according to the latest data, more than 500 thousand Russian citizens live, with modern electronic warfare (EW) and air defense systems. Either through direct deliveries or through the efforts of our partners from South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
- Limit Ukraine's diplomatic presence in Russia. Stop trade and economic relations in areas that are not vital.
- Contact Turkish President Erdogan with a demand to stop supplying the Ukrainian Armed Forces with attack UAVs.
- Russia must speed up the process of issuing Russian passports to residents of the LPR and DPR. And to all residents of Ukraine.
A monkey with a grenade poses a danger not only to Donbass but to all of Europe. The response to Kyiv must be lightning fast, tough and immediate,” Popov concluded.
