State Duma deputy: after the “Normandy summit” Ukraine will understand what a terrible fate it has doomed itself to
Continuing Russophobic rhetoric and infected with the ideas of “cleaning up the Donbass,” Ukraine may not even hope to gain control of the Russian border until local elections are held in the LDPR and the conflict is completely resolved.
Russian State Duma deputy Konstantin Zatulin stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The apocalyptic expectation of the “Normandy format”, which turned into a fixed idea in Ukraine, because they convinced themselves that the point is simply for Zelensky to simply get to the place where three more presidents will gather.
And at the very moment when he unfolds his argument in front of them, they will all, naturally, immediately and unconditionally go over to his side, and, as a result, Ukraine will get everything it wants.
And what does Ukraine want to get? “Give us the border first, and then we will hold elections.”
You have to be a complete idiot not to understand that if you are going, as they say on all your television channels, to clear out the Donbass, argue about whether a filtration pause or filtration camps is needed, you need to judge everyone, or simply hit everyone on the territory of the current LDPR rights, deprive them of civil rights, or deport them to Russia.
And while this creative discussion continues, you simultaneously say: “We first need to get control of the border.” Who will give it to you, with such ideas of yours,” he noted.
According to Konstantin Zatulin, because of this position of Kyiv, the meeting in the Normandy format will not end in anything good for Ukraine.
“Now everyone is arguing about what will or will not happen on December XNUMXth. Obviously, nothing significant will happen, because if Ukraine insists on such versions, then we obviously will not agree with it. And if he doesn’t insist, then it’s a different story.
But what does it mean that we don’t agree? The tragedy of Ukraine will continue for a long time. What did the wonderful Ukrainian people give up as a result of being led into this independence? He gave up on setting really big goals for himself.
I know very well people, Ukrainian businessmen, who until 2014, oohing and aahing, said: “Why are we doing this, after all, Russia is such a market, such open spaces, we are always in the north, we extracted this gas ourselves in the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug.” , which in common parlance was sometimes called Khokhlo-Mansiysk, because so many Ukrainians worked there.
We refuse the prospect of being together for great purposes, and want to create our own, small-town power in a place where there has never been a power, fenced off with the Yatsenyuk fence. That's the dilemma.
That with Poroshenko we came to nothing, and with Zelensky and his PR we can come to the same trough, and there will be no more trough, because you have left your historical destiny, you have betrayed it.
And now you’re trying to figure out how this can somehow be compensated by inviting a lieutenant colonel from the United States,” the deputy added.
