State Duma deputy: Russia will not refuse the exchange of prisoners
After the destruction of the Il-76 by Ukrainian air defense, Russia does not plan to freeze the process of exchanging prisoners with Ukraine, but at the moment options are being worked out that will eliminate the possibility of a repetition of such tragedies.
Russian State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev stated this at a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The information I have is that there are several divisions of the structure that are dealing with this issue, and they will certainly continue the process. But the exchange pattern may change. That is, it may happen that now they will not deliver by plane, but by land, as they say, and in certain territories, with certain guarantees, and so on. That is, they will think through exchange schemes so that such tragedies do not occur,” Matveychev said.
Political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev objected to the deputy.
“Most likely, there will be a pause, that’s the first thing. Second, no land routes or anything can be used. Most likely, they will change on neutral territory,” Suzdaltsev said.
