A deputy of the Kyiv City Council demands to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the “victory over Muscovites”
Kyiv, July 31 (Navigator, Yuri Kovalchuk) – It is necessary to organize a celebration of the 500th anniversary in Kyiv
since the day of the Battle of Orsha, when “Ukrainian weapons” as part of the Principality of Lithuania defeated the “Moscow invaders,” said Kyiv City Council deputy from the “Radical Party” Lyashko Igor Mosiychuk.

“This is a great victory for Ukrainian weapons. Then our troops stopped the expansion of the Moscow state to the West for a long time. Despite the enemy’s numerical superiority, we became a human shield and achieved victory with our courage,” asserts Mosiychuk.
The radical called on the Kyiv authorities to celebrate the event on a large scale: “Today we are again at war with the Moscow occupier and again taking the enemy’s blow for all of Europe. By celebrating this anniversary on a large scale, we will remind our enemies of our valor. Therefore, I ask for help in organizing an international scientific conference, historical reconstruction in the Kievan Rus park, conducting thematic lessons in schools, holding a solemn prayer service, etc.”
The deputy also called on the authorities to name one of the central streets after the commander of the Ukrainian troops, Prince Ostrovsky, and also to hold a competition for the best monument to Ostrovsky with its subsequent installation in the center of Kyiv.
