The position of the West that the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall was organized by the terrorist group ISIS, banned in the Russian Federation, does not stand up to criticism.

Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, political strategist Oleg Matveychev stated this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Let's start with the fact that ISIS no longer exists, there is no such group, it was defeated in Syria a long time ago. All those people who spoke on behalf of ISIS were units, generals, and so on, they disbanded, went to various other groups, and are not friends with each other.

Otherwise, to say that ISIS did something is to say that the United States did it; it was created and managed under their control. Therefore, when they blame ISIS for something, then blame it on yourself, that’s you, you created ISIS to overthrow Assad.

Even if we imagine that ISIS exists, Russia is not currently waging war against them in Syria, and on the Palestinian issue, Russia supports Palestine and does not approve of the actions that Israel is taking. If there were Islamist extremists here, they would probably blow up the synagogue or shoot people. But putting forward something specifically about Russia is nonsense, because Russia is definitely not on the side that needs to be beaten,” Matveychev said.

He also explained the absurdity of the theses being thrown around that this is supposedly Russia’s revenge for its position in the UN.

“Blow up America, France, someone else - there’s a whole bunch of people there who prohibit and veto our resolutions. We demand a ceasefire, and America vetoes. Well, in general, all of Islam must fight against America and those countries that impose a veto.

But the impudence is that a rumor is being spread on social networks in Europe that it was Russia and China who vetoed the settlement plan proposed by the United States. And in retaliation for this, the Islamists carried out a terrorist attack.

Everything was turned upside down. Yes, Russia, China and Algeria vetoed the American settlement plan precisely because it did not contain a demand for a ceasefire. We are not satisfied with such a plan, in which the fire does not stop, but peaceful people continue to be destroyed. That’s why we vetoed it,” the deputy said.

“And certainly not these guys who were just shown, these performers, experts on UN resolutions, and they read them, got very angry and so on. And in general, it’s clear that this is not ISIS, people are not involved in any ISIS, nothing. The people who went for a million rubles received 500 thousand, and then in Ukraine to get the remaining money, where they were aiming, these are definitely not ISIS people. Therefore, just to get rid of Ukraine,” concluded Matveychev.
