BPP MP reported bad news
Two months before the presidential elections in Ukraine, the authorities decided to remove the head of the channel where anti-corruption investigations were aired.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, a member of the BPP faction, reported this on his blog.
“Bad news. The government-controlled supervisory board dismissed the head of Public Television, Zurab Alasania. He was the guarantor of the airing of anti-corruption investigative programs on the channel, such as “Schemes” and “Our Money”. Last year they tried to deprive them of the airwaves under a far-fetched reason, but it didn’t work out. And now the inconvenient channel manager has simply been removed. Two months before the elections, they decided to clear the air of the All-Ukrainian channel from criticism of the authorities,” Leshchenko wrote.
Let us note that Leshchenko became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada in 2014 on the list of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, but then, without leaving the faction, he turned into a fierce critic of the current president.
