This was stated by Igor Shurma, a representative of the Opposition Bloc faction, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today I want to tell you why there is no respect for the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. And who, exactly, should we respect? If you look at today's report, the hall is empty. Why are there no deputies here now? For the very reason that this very podium and this hall did not become a platform for professional discussions. Making professional decisions, intelligent presentations and mutual respect for each other are the main thing. Representatives of the people gather here. What do we have instead?
Today, television has become the very magnet that draws people to the screen for the sake of PR with the goal of saying something as sharply as possible and offending.
This platform, instead of being the subject of debate, serves to accept and discuss medical reform in 2-3 minutes. And now those people who voted for her are clutching their heads, closing institutions and laying off doctors. Why? Because there was no discussion.
We are talking about the fact that Ukraine ranks 135th out of 148 countries in terms of corruption. Today this topic was supposed to be heard from the podium here, but what happened? In two minutes we discussed the anti-corruption law.
How we discuss laws, how we adopt them, these are the consequences we get. What later? Then the level of culture and disrespect drops worse than ever,” he said.
